‘Reconciliation efforts a good sign’

Dimapur, August 27 (MExN): Nagaland Home Minister Imkong L Imchen today said that the reconciliation process initiated, especially by the Forum for Naga Reconciliation, is a “good sign” which might bring about unity and reconciliation. Speaking as the chief guest of the 14th biennial general conference of the  All Nagaland College Students’ Union  at Dimapur, Imchen said the Naga underground groups have splintered into four to five groups and who are fighting among themselves. He said the Naga groups have forgotten the issue of Naga “independence” but have not ‘forgotten about fighting each other.’ However, Imchen said that the recent reconciliation process initiated by the Forum for Naga Reconciliation especially the recent meetings among the Naga “political” groups in Dimapur are a good sign. “These are the good signs,” said Imchen without elaborating much. However, he asserted that once ‘the Nagas’ are united then there is no power on earth that will stop them  from getting what they want. Similarly, he added, if the Nagas are divided then they wont achieve anything.
