Jubilee Memorial School Mokokchung is holding its 16th Summer Camp at Clark Memorial Hr Sec School, Impur (ABAM Mission Centre) where 146 students from Class VIII to Class XII are attending the camp which began on June 18 and will conclude on 20. Dubbed as ‘Reconnect 2013’ the summer camp is held with an objective to groom the personalities of the students so that they can face the challenges in life with more confidence, said Moarenla Chingmir, the Camp Director and Chaplain of Jubilee Memorial School.
The main speakers at the camp are Lolenwati (Associate Pastor, Shillong) and Talichila, Training Consultant Youth Net. The camp focuses not only on the spiritual but also on the practical challenges of life. the training consultant of Youth Net, Talichila who was the main speaker at today’s session spoke on the topic ‘Personal Management’ and enlightened the students on how to better manage their lives through proper time management, finances, personal grooming and social etiquettes.
Speaking with The Morung Express on the sidelines of the summer camp, the Chaplain of the school, Moarenla said, “We do not focus only on the spiritual aspect. We have incorporated a lot of activities in this camp so that it can complement with the regular academic activities being taught in the school. We have brought in experts like Talichila who is a renowned trainer in the field of personnel management.
Besides we also have the dynamic theologian Lolenwati from Shillong who has been dealing with the youths for a long time. So through this camp we hope to see a more confident, more prepared and more responsible student in our society.”
The principal of Jubilee Memorial School, SK Maiti said that the Summer Camp is being sponsored by the Mokokchung Town Baptist Church Mission Board. The summer camp play a vital role in shaping the personality of the students since the students, who are in the adolescent stage, needs special care and attention. Therefore, the school annually conducts such camps to give spiritual feeding and counseling through healthy Christian doctrines. He further expressed deep gratitude to the different speakers at the camp and also the MTBA Mission Board for their support and help towards the successful conduct of the camp.
It may be noted here that the Jubilee Memorial School, established by the Mokokchung Town Baptist Church, in the year 1989, is the only school in Nagaland affiliated with ICSE (Indian Council of School Education). It is one of the premier educational institution in Mokokchung which has produced a lot of successful students during the 24 years of its existence.
