Recoveries surpass new cases in Nagaland, total tally at 4,128

Dimapur, September 5 (MExN):  Nagaland reported a total of 21 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, taking the total number of infections to 4,128. It also reported 68 new recoveries. 

According to Nagaland Health and Family Welfare Minister S Pangnyu  Phom who announced the news on Twitter, the fresh cases were from  480 samples that were tested. Kohima and Dimapur reported eight cases each, Mon reported four while one case was from Mokokchung 

“Contact tracing have been activated by our IDSP Team & all primary contacts are kept under self isolation,” the Minister said in his tweet. Among the 68 new recoveries on September 5, a total of 34 were from Kohima, 25 from Mon and 9 were from Dimapur. According to the Heath Minister, all recovered patients will be kept under strict surveillance.

With this, the total number of recovered cases in the state has now reached 3419. The number of active cases now stands at 689. So far, Nagaland has reported 8 COVID-19 deaths as per the daily bulletin issued by the state Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme. It indicated that two deaths as ‘not COVID related,’ while adding thatr five death cases in Dimapur are under investigation. Ten cases are said to have migrated, according to the IDSP.
