Mokokchung, August 12 (MExN): The second edition of the Red Run marathon took place on August 12, 2024, organised by the District AIDS Prevention and Control Unit (DAPCU/DISHA) under the Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS).
Dr Kibang Imchen, Chief Medical Officer, flagged off the event, stressing the importance of collective action to prevent the HIV & AIDS epidemic.
The marathon aimed to engage young people in healthy lifestyles, promote safe sexual behavior, and increase awareness about HIV & AIDS services. The event saw 52 students from four colleges participate, with the starting and ending point at Police Point, Mokokchung.
In the male category, Majui S, Besyemjong, and Mulai, all from Fazl Ali College, secured the top three positions. In the female category, Imnatola Longchar and Imchaienla Longchar from Fazl Ali College took the top two spots, while Muchan L from Mokokchung Centre of Teachers Education (MCTE) secured third place.
The winners and runners-up will represent Mokokchung district in the state-level marathon race.
