‘Red Run’ marathon race held at Phek

DIMAPUR, AUGUST 14 (MExN): In tune with International Youth Day, Phek district marathon race “Red Run” was organized by DAPCU and supported by NSACS on the theme, ‘Youth for HIV.’

The marathon race was flag off by DSO, Phek, Wutsutho Nyuthe on August 12. Addressing the participants, Nyuthe encouraged the participants to adapt healthy lifestyle and stay fit to have a sound mind and sound body. He also urged them to abstain from indulging in risky behavior. He also called upon them to be an agent of change by spreading awareness to the community in the fight against HIV/AIDS. 

Short speech was also delivered by Kuduvo Kezo, DPO DAPCU. In the marathon race, among the male category, Vekhruto Nienu won the first prize while Hekhu Tsory and Pothito Tetseo won the 2nd and 3rd prize respectively.

In the female category, the 1st prize went to Vemuzholu Keyho while Zhomunulu Vese and Mhashevelu clinched the 2nd and 3rd Prize respectively. Altogether 10 male and 8 female Red Ribbon Club members from Phek Government College participated in the Youth Fest marathon race competition.
