Like most businesses and specially food businesses, RedMoon Bakery, based in Delhi faced a massive hit during the lockdown with the sudden closure. However, the impact of the lockdown remained unwavered for the thirteen years old bakery, where it continued to remain committed to its staff and clients. On June 12, RedMoon Bakery extended its goodwill to Nagas by baking 1053 breads for the 580 Naga returnees in Delhi who were homeward bound by the Shramik special train.

Despite the financial challenges the bakery waivered 90 percent of the cost. Having witnessed the migrant crisis in the present pandemic where many migrants traveling in trains or foot were stranded without food, Co-owner Abhishek Gier stated that the baker made itself open to producing good quality breads that can sustain a person for 2-3 meals.

"When we were approached by friends who were part of organizing the trains, we felt it is our responsibility to help our Naga friends and baked 1053 breads in 14 hours with the primary ingredient being love," says Abhishek Gier, co-owner of the bakery. RedMoon is a 13 years old bakery specialising in North American baked goods, started by Dave and Anna Hambly, bakers from Canada, who made Delhi their home.

"We believe in investing in the lives of our staff and having happy customers," says Gier.  The Shramik special train arranged by the Government of Nagaland carrying 580 stranded Nagaland citizens from Delhi reached Dimapur on June 16.
