Refresher training for Accredited Social Health Activist in Dimapur underway

Dimapur, March 20 (MExN): A two-day refresher training for Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA) under National Urban Health Mission (NUHM) Dimapur is underway at District Hospital Conference Hall, Dimapur on March 20 and 21. 

Dr Temsu Longkumer, Chief Medical Officer ,Dimapur in his welcome speech appreciated the ASHAs for their selfless dedication towards community health and also encourage them continue their noble work.

On day one, the resource persons are Imlilemla Longkumer, District Community Mobilizer and Tirangsungla Longchari, Block ASHA Co-ordinator, Dimapur Sadar. The ASHAs were reoriented on their Roles and Responsibilities during various health activities such as Urban Health & Nutrition Days, Outreach etc, common health problems and infectious diseases, infant and child nutrition, adolescent health, RTI/STI, High Risk babies, HBNC/HBYC, how to maintain AHSA Registers, and Mahila Arogya Samiti (MAS). The ASHAs were also reoriented on ASHA Skill set, and CBAC-NCD Form and survey. The ASHAs also demonstrated how to care for new born.

On the second day, the resource person will be Dr Chamzai Newmai, Medical Officer UPHC Burma Camp and Smt. Vilito, GNM, UPHC Burma Camp, will be reoriented on maternal health and New Born Care, new MCP card, IPC/RIMP, Anemia Mukt Bharat, and Deworming. Group activities and discussions will also be carried out.

It may be noted that on the second day, the NUHM ASHAs will be joined by ASHAs under Dimapur Sadar for refresher training on Routine Immunization Micro Planning, stated a press release received here.
