GPRN/NSCN mourns late Lakhum

DIMAPUR, APRIL 26 (MExN):
GPRN/NSCN is saddened to learn about the demise one of the most daring soldiers in the annals of Naga history, late Lakhum Yimchunger, hailing from Tsasheru Village, Yimchunger Region on April 21, 2011, after prolonged illness. He was a hugely respected NNC figure and one of the last remaining heroes who spearheaded in the declaration of war against the occupational Indian forces on March 24, 1955 at Huker Village in Yimchunger Region. “When the Naga Nation needed him the most he rose to the occasion with valor and great leadership. He was a fine military commander and a fierce fighter for the Naga Nation”, stated a condolence message from Hothrong Yimchunger Kilo Kilonser, GPRN/NSCN. His contribution to Naga freedom struggle in immense and Naga history shall shine bright for men like him. GPRN/NSCN pays its tribute to this great son of the soil. He has lived an eventful life with honor and integrity till the very end, the condolence stated.  

Air India flight rescheduled for today

DIMAPUR, APRIL 26 (MExN):
The Station Manager of Air India Limited Dimapur has informed that due to operational reason AI-9702 for April 27 (Dimapur-Kolkata ATR flight) has been combined with AI-709 of April 27. The departure time of AI-709 is 1155 hours for Kolkata. All passengers of AI-9702 for April 27 have been requested to report for check-in at Dimapur airport at 1020 hrs.

Peren dist govt driver’s 30th meeting held

DIMAPUR, APRIL 26 (MExN):
The 30th general meeting of Peren District Government Drivers’ Union was held at administrative Rest House Jalukie. Handing and taking over of files for the newly appointed executives took place after which the union expressed their gratitude to Khrienuo C. Metha the Deputy Commissioner of Peren for her sincere support and assistance towards the union. The Union also acknowledged their gratefulness to the SDO (civil) Jalukie and the Officers of Peren district for their logistic and moral support, a press release from the PDGDU Jalukie Unit President Teichang Pwetlang stated.   

State to observe World Veterinary Day

DIMAPUR, APRIL 26 (MExN):
The Nagaland State Veterinary Council (NSVC) is observing the World Veterinary Day 2011 on April 30, 2011 at Dimapur by organizing a panel discussion on “Rabies” and a seminar on “Meat-borne Zoonotic diseases”. A press note issued by Dr. M. Timothy Lotha, convener, organizing committee, World Veterinary Day 2011 informed that the function will be held in the conference hall of Bookmarc, opposite Naga Shopping Arcade, Dimapur from 9:30 am. The panel discussion and the seminar will be attended amongst others by the Veterinarians, senior officers of the Health and Family Welfare Department, administrative officers and advisors of the various Municipalities and Town councils. Besides, the ‘Veterinarian of the year award 2011’ will also be given to the winner of the award during the function. The note requested all the Registered veterinary practitioners of Nagaland State to attend the function.

38 from Kehoi join NSCN/GPRN

DIMAPUR, APRIL 26 (MExN):
On the felicitation ceremony of the 38 "home-comers" from Kehoi, the GPRN authority led by the steering convenor ‘lt.gen.’(Retd) V.S. Atem and other rank and file cordially welcomed their home-coming into its GPRN fold on April 7 CHQ. Hebron. The authority also expressed its utmost appreciation for their  timely  realization and their ingenious decision to rededicate their invaluable services for the cause  of the nation by ultimately choosing the right and noble path in order to realized Nagas political aspiration under the distinguished and able leadership of Isak Chishi Swu and Th. Muivah. Lastly, the authority also asserts that, the GPRN truly believes and hope that through their home-coming into the main stream, the present Naga National move for self-determination will yield a gaint leap towards the cherished goal of the Naga people, informed the MIP/GPRN,Hebron in a press note.
