World Health Organisation (WHO), North East Network (NEN), Shillong, Self Employed Women Association and others after the regional consultation on universal health coverage held on July 16 and 17 in Shillong.
Mokokchung, July 17 (MExN): World Health Organisation (WHO) in collaboration with North East Network (NEN), Shillong, Self Employed Women Association, Indian Institute of Public Health, Shillong and Population Foundation of India organised a Regional Consultation on Universal Health Coverage on July 16 and 17 in Shillong.
A press release from Managing Director, Care and Support Society, Mokokchung stated the consultation programme laid focus on the NGOs who are working on health issues in the North East India. The key focus of the consultation was to understand the community perspective of health system in the North East India, ensuring that no one is denied access to good quality health care irrespective of socio economic problems and other disabilities.
Representing Nagaland, members from Family Planning Association of India, Nagaland Branch, SEWA, Nagaland, Human Rights Law Network Nagaland Unit, Care & Support Society, Mokokchung and North East Network, Nagaland participated in the consultation.
Resource persons of the consultation were Dr Hilde de Greave, Team Leader, WHO; Dr K Srinath Reddy , President PHFI; Dr Sandra Albert, Director, IIPH, Shillong; Rupa Chinai; Dr Mirai Chatterjee, Director, SEWA; Dr Chandrakant Lahariya, WHO; Dr Caleb Harris, NEIGRIHMS and others.
Report of the consultation will be placed before the High Level Committee of the WHO for further action, the release added.
