Taking his election campaign trail to 15th Southern Angami II Assembly Constituency for party candidate Dr. Atha Vizol here today, former chief minister Neiphiu Rio asserted that the regional party is growing stronger in the state. ‘Our position is getting better. We are on the bright side,’ he said adding that regional party has been gaining good support of the people by the day.
Rio said that the NPF-led DAN government during its regime had undertaken a lot of development, adding that the people have seen with their own eyes. ‘We are very pleased by your support and prayer,’ he said and once again appealed to the people to repose their confidence in the NPF so that it would come back to power and continue to deliver the goods to the people.
Rio also lambasted the Congress for bringing President’s Rule in Nagaland, saying it was an insult to Nagas. ‘We will go to people’s court,’ he said and asked the people to ‘think wisely’ and return the DAN to power. He appealed to the people for the success of Dr. Atha Vizol in the election.
Also speaking at the occasion, NPF president Dr. Shurhozelie Liezietsu appealed to the people to cast their valuable votes in favour of NPF candidates so that “we can meet happily on March 8,” the day of counting votes. He also reiterated that there is no leadership crisis within the camp of regional party, saying that Neiphiu Rio will become chief minister again if DAN is voted to power.
Dr. Atha sought support from the people to elect him so that he would strive and work for the welfare of people under the leadership of former Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and NPF president Dr. Shurhozelie Liezietsu. Zakru Tsukru, vice president NPF Nagaland also spoke on the occasion.
Also launching the campaign for party candidate Kiyanilie Peseyie of 8th Western Angami A/C at Sechu-Zubza, both the former chief minister Neiphiu Rio and NPF president Dr. Shurhozelie lauded the performance of the latter and appealed to the people to re-elect him so as to work together for the betterment of the people.
In his speech, Kiyanilie reiterated that the DAN had brought remarkable developments in the state, adding that more are on the pipeline if DAN is voted to power.
Citing various achievements in the constituency, Kiyanilie appealed to the people to re-elect him so that he would be able to continue to serve and work for the people.
