Kohima, July 8 (DIPR): The Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Nagaland has earmarked 342 non-functioning societies for cancellation of registration from the Cooperative fold. This has been done in compliance with the Cabinet approval vide O.M.No.CAB-2/2008, dated 8th September 2010 and in exercise of the power conferred to the Registrar of Cooperative Society under Proviso 95 of Assam Cooperative Rules 1950 and Sec 65(2) of Assam Cooperative Society Act 1949, which is enforced in the state of Nagaland. The 342 societies are those which did not commence work or ceased to work or have ceased to comply materially with any condition as to the registration in the Act, Rules or Bye-Laws. All non-functioning/non-audited societies may contact their respective district offices for further clarification.
