DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 13 (MExN): The Nagaland Senior Open Athletics Championships 2023 will be held on November 16 & 17, 2023 at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima.
A press release issued by Nagaland Athletics Association (NAA) said any indigenous inhabitant of Nagaland is eligible to participate in the competition. Events to be conducted during the championship include long jump, high jump, triple jump, shot put, discus, javelin etc.
Registration process for athletes will be online via google form and registration fees will be Rs 100 per event. An athlete can participate in maximum 2 individual events only. Aadhaar will be accepted as valid document for registration and no other document will be accepted. Last date of registration will be November 6, and no entries will be accepted under any circumstances after the last date.
Athletes with promising performances during the meet will be selected for intensive State level coaching camp, the press release stated. Interested athletes can visit social media handles of Nagaland Athletics for further queries.
The NAA also informed that it would be conducting Athletic Federation of India (AFI) athlete registration drive. AFI athlete registration is mandatory for all athletes in order to participate in competition organized under AFI. Therefore, all athletes have been requested to register themselves in the Athletic Federation of India website and obtain AFIUID Number.
