Regularise serving teachers: ANSTA

Dimapur, August 31 (MExN): The All Nagaland School Teachers’ Association (ANSTA) has made an appeal for “regularization of three years and above serving teachers, who are appointed against sanctioned posts and implementation of ROP ’99”.

In a letter addressed to the Director of School Education, Kohima, the ANSTA president, Kepelhoutuo Chusi, treasurer Ponchulo Wantha and joint secretary Kekuolhouthie appealed for “immediate action” on regularisation and implementation of ROP ’99. The Association reminded that as per the cabinet decision taken on May 14, 2007, under ‘Additional Agenda items No. 2’, all government employees who have completed more than 3 years of continuous service on contract/adhoc basis against sanctioned post shall be eligible for regularisation, subject to passing the suitability test to be conducted by the concerned departments which shall constitute the committee to conduct the tests.

However, the ANSTA stated, the department has not initiated any further action toward the process of regularisation after the compilation work was heard done. In this regard, the Association “appeal strongly to the department authority to take up the case before it is too late and complicated. Over and above this, ROP ’99 should be implemented on this group of employees at par with employees of other departments as another ROP (the 6th ROP) is in the offing before the 5th ROP is granted to them.”

Further, the teachers’ association added, any discussion/deliberation invited on the given subject will be welcomed by the ANSTA to highlight impending implications on the matter.
