‘Reimagining youth skills post pandemic’

SBI Foundation – AIDA observes World Youth Skills Day

Dimapur, July 15 (MExN): In observance of the World Youth Skills Day, the ANMA Integrated Development Association (AIDA) under its SBI Foundation - Gram Seva Programme in collaboration with Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) Dimapur organized mushroom cultivation training at AIDA Don Bosco Dimapur. 

The training was focused on livelihood skill development and youth empowerment in observance of World Youth Skills Day based on 2021 theme ‘reimagining youth skills post pandemic.’ The objective of the training was to provide skilling and trainings for unemployed youth to ensure better livelihood opportunities and also to channelize youth energy into constructive, social activities and creating youth leadership, stated a press release received here. 

Dr Aabon Yanthan, ICAR Research Complex, Nagaland Centre, specialized in mushroom and post harvest technology as the resource person demonstrated practical procedure for mushroom cultivation. 

Altogether, 33 youth from the five adopted villages (Khriezephe, Diezephe, Bade, Tsithrongse and Urra) under SBI Gram Seva programme attended the training. The training was an interactive session and the participants took part in the demonstration with the resource person.

Rev Fr Roy George SDB, Executive Director, AIDA said the invocation and Rev Fr TT Joseph SDB, Associate Director, AIDA said the welcome address. Rev Fr Nebu Mathew SDB, Rector, Don Bosco, Dimapur also attended the programme.
