Kohima, October 1 (MExN): Apropos the news item ‘LOU-DHEP general meeting held’, which was published on September 18, 2016, Renbomo Kikon, General Secretary, NPF Central HQs, i/c Wokha Division has issued a rejoinder. Renbomo said he had attended the meeting of the Land Owners’ Union, Doyang Hydro Electric Project (LOU-DHEP) convened by R. Yanthan and his group on September 14 at NRC Hall, Doyang, but “I have made it clear that the tenure of the LOU-DHEP under the Presidentship of R. Yanthan cannot be extended as per the judgment of the Civil Judge (Jr) Wokha, dated 29-07-16.”
As such, he stated, “the question of unanimous decision to re-affirm the validity of the election held on May 14, 2014 does not arise.” Therefore, he insisted that fresh election of LOU-DHEP should be called once again at the earliest by inviting all the effected villages with the prior approval of the District Administration.
“Since, DHEP is an important project not only for Wokha district but for the entire Nagaland, a new team of LOU-DHEP is urgently required in order to assist the Head of Project (HOP) for smooth functioning of the project,” he added.
