Rejoinder from three ACAUT members

Dimapur, February 16 (MExN): The paper war continues within the Against Corruption and Unabated Taxation (ACAUT) Nagaland split groups as three signatories of the ACAUT statement published on February 16 today issued a rejoinder.

The three members – Avi Chase, Azolo Nuh, Yisanbeni – who were part of the February 8 ACAUT emergency meeting, wherein the resolution to denounce the endorsement to CCNTHCO was adopted, clarified that “in light of the evidences and understanding the sequence of events we now believe without a shadow of doubt that we have made a hasty and uninformed decision and it is regrettable that the press and media were called without our knowledge at the said meeting.”

Given this backdrop, they attended the February14 ACAUT general meeting at Tourist Lodge, which was attended by ACAUT advisors and ACAUT Core committee members and “we duly apologized to the ACAUT Advisors and the core committee members for the very unfortunate resolution and press conference.”

Regarding the press statement published on February 16, the three clarified they were told their signatures were taken only to reiterate that the February 8 meeting decision was a collective one and nothing more. “However, we were aghast at the press statement that came out the following morning February 16, 2018 because it is certainly not what we have consented for,” they added.

While acknowledging that the resolution on February 8 was “a unanimous decision by the few of us,” the rejoinder said, “but in light of evidences we revoke our decision made on that day.”

“Therefore we are in consensus that the ACAUT decision to be a part of CCNTHCO was duly endorsed by the ACAUT and chairman Joel Naga and Mar longkumer did not represent the CCNTHCO on their own but as endorsed by ACAUT.”

They also denounced the suspension of Tia Longchar saying the allegation against him holds no ground.

The three also denounced the statement calling the February 14 meeting as null and void. “We uphold the decision held on that day and respect the advice of our advisors.”

Therefore, the rejoinder denounced the February 16 press statement “which was published without divulging the whole contents to us.”
