Relic of Don Bosco crosses Nagaland-Assam border

DIMAPUR, MAY 26 (MExN): The Relic of Don Bosco-the Father and Teacher of Youth, on a world tour to visit all establishments of Salesians of Don Bosco and of the other members of the Salesian Family, spread across 130 Countries, as a preparatory run-up to the bi-centenary Celebrations of Don Bosco's Birth in 2015 left Dimapur Province on the morning of 25th May 2011 on its onward Tour of Guwahati Province starting with the first stop at Diphu. It had visited all the Don Bosco institutes in the states of Manipur, Nagaland, Upper Assam and Arunachal Pradesh and will complete the Indian Tour on 7th November 2011 after visiting all the 10 Provinces of the Salesains of Don Bosco. This was informed in a press note issued by Dr. Stephen Kamson Provincial Secretary of Don Bosco Alumni, Dimapur Province.
The Relic of Don Bosco was ushered out of Dimapur Province by members of the Salesian Family and handed over to the large gathering of followers that had arrived from Karbianglong and assembled at the Nagaland-Karbianglong Gate at 7.30 am on 25th May 2011. Don Bosco Alumni Dimapur Provincial Federation, on behalf of the Salesian Family of Dimapur Province, acknowledged with sincere gratitude, the services and cooperation rendered by the media establishments, particularly the Print media, in connection with the visit of the Relic of Don Bosco to Dimapur city.
The Coordinating Committee also expressed gratitude to the District Administration particularly the DC, SP, CEO of DMC, President of Naga Council Dimapur, the Addl SP Traffic, the OCs of all the Police Stations for ensuring smooth conduct of the 4-day program, and for their participation at the Public Reception at the Nagaland-Assam Gate on 21st May 2011. The Salesian Family further appreciated the general Public of the district besides acknowledging the Director of NEZCC Som Kamei and his Directorate for sponsoring the Ao Naga Traditional Warrior troupe to ceremonially welcome the Relic of Don Bosco upon his second entry into Nagaland on 21st May 2011.
