Renault India has launched the updated version of KWID – branded as “New Feature-loaded Range” in Nagaland on August 11. A best-selling model of the European car major in India, the KWID version has, according to the company, sold over 2.5 lakh units since its launch three years ago.
Since the launch, it has upped the ante in the Indian car market while giving stiff competition to other manufacturers in the small-family-city car segment, particularly, Maruti’s Alto range of small cars. “This attractive, innovative and affordable car has been a true game-changer and volume driver for Renault India,” stated a media handout, while adding that the French car-maker is the number one European brand in the country.
The new KWID was launched in Dimapur at the company’s exclusive showroom/dealership – SK Autokrafts located at Purana Bazaar. Abhay Kr. Lakra, RMME, State Bank of India, Dimapur launched the car at a ceremony organised at the dealership.
The New Feature-Loaded Range will be available in both manual and automated transmission options at no additional price, stated the handout. It offers “segment-leading length, power to weight ratio, boot space, ground clearance and cutting edge technology. It boasts of several first-in-segment features led by its SUV inspired design, 7-inch touchscreen Media NAV (navigation) system, rear camera, digital instrument cluster, one-touch lane change indicator, radio speed dependent volume control and pro-sense seat belt pretensioners with load limitors.”
The new KWID comes with a 4-year or 1 lakh km (whichever is earlier) class-leading warranty along with road side assistance at no extra cost. Customers can choose from 6 colour options –fiery red, planet grey, moonlight silver, ice cool white, outback bronze and electric blue for the KWID Climber. Bookings have commenced across all Renault dealerships in India.
