Kohima, September 6 (MExN): The Rengma community has appealed to the Minister of Higher Education & Tourism, Nagaland, seeking the reinstatement of Dr. A. Nshoga Rengma as Director of the Higher Education Department. In a letter addressed to Minister Temjen Imna Along, the Rengma Hoho expressed deep concern over Dr. Rengma's recent reassignment to the position of Officer on Special Duty (OSD) within the same department.
The Hoho’s letter, signed by Er. Tesinlo Semy, President, and Shatilo Kent, General Secretary, highlighted Dr. Rengma’s qualifications and dedication. They argued that his removal from the Director position, despite his qualifications and prior performance, was both unexpected and unjust.
On August 31, the Rengma Hoho met with Minister Along at his residence. During this meeting, the Minister assured the delegation that Dr. Rengma would be reinstated to his previous role. The community’s appeal is a follow-up to this assurance, requesting formal action to restore Dr. Rengma to his former position.
