DIMAPUR, MARCH 22 (MExN): Expressing concern over the conflict between the SAPO and the Mao communities over the land dispute at Kezoltsa/Kozürü area, the Rengma Hoho on Friday stated that the ongoing dispute has led to adverse effects, causing distress and anguish among both communities.
In light of this, the Rengma Hoho has urgently appealed to all parties involved to prioritize mutual respect and promote peaceful coexistence.
It specifically urged the APO & SAPO to reconsider their ultimatum issued to the Mao community and refrain from any drastic actions that may escalate the situation further. It is important to allow peace to prevail, especially considering that the conditions outlined in the ultimatum have already been met through Tenyimi Public Organization (TPO) mediation, it maintained.
It also noted that security forces and Section 144 of the CrPC have been withdrawn from the disputed area, and the damaged rest house has been reconstructed. It, therefore, called upon both communities to place their trust in the TPO for a peaceful resolution to the dispute.
“At this critical juncture, the Rengma Hoho earnestly prays for mutual respect and peaceful coexistence, emphasizing the importance of fostering the spirit of brotherhood among the Nagas,” it stated.
