Rengma Officers’ Forum general body meeting held

The Rengma Officers’ Forum (ROF) through its 18th general meeting held here today discussed the matters pertaining to Government College at Tseminyu, ROF building in Tseminyu and Tseminyu district demand.

Presently, ROF has 307 members.

Addressing the gathering as the special guest, R. Khing, advisor animal husbandry & veterinary services and women development, challenged the Rengma officers to exercise their best minds and approaches to bring positive change in the society.

He called upon the officers to be efficient, sincere and committed and diligently serve the Rengma community in particular and the people of the state in general.

He called upon the officers to do away with the colours of inefficiency and misbehavior.

“Be an eye opener,” he told the officers and at the same time urged upon them to be dutiful and explore their potentials for the welfare and betterment of the state.

He also told the officers to provide quality service to the community and live upto the expectation of the people.
“Give your best service for the benefit and upliftment of the society,” he said.

Tseminyu additional deputy commissioner Nokchasashi thanked the various organizations and officers for extending their unflinching support, guidance and cooperation to the administration.

He said the people Rengma are very cooperative, understanding and possess a sense of responsibility.

He looks forward to continue to work together with them for all round development of Tseminyu Sub Division.

ROF president Pollem Tep said “ROF is one of the many intellectual bodies having reasonable amount of rationality, with an understanding of many diverse situations and capable of making an impact in our Rengma community and Naga society.”

He said that Rengma officers are vested with responsibilities to contribute its resources, be it in decision making, policy- making or policy execution.”

“We are expected to contribute without prejudice, so that the government will progress in its developmental activities and achieve its goal in time for the welfare of the people,” Tep said.

He said that Rengma have been contributing proportionately and according to its own capacity, in government or non government arena, politically, socially and economically too, looking well beyond the walls of only our tribe and into the wider community of the Nagas.

“However, while doing so, we should not compromise qualify of our performance, whatever our call of duty may be,” he said.

Stating that the government has given much importance to education sector by enacting Right to Education Act 2009, he said the ROF has a role to play by sensitizing the parents in rural areas so that the low income people can access to free and compulsory education.

On government’s declaration of Tseminyu as “Aspirational Sub Division” under Kohima district, he strongly felt that the ROF members should take this as a stepping stone and bring positive change from one’s own department to Tseminyu.

He also stressed on the need to suggest ways to make the process a smooth one and the result, a sustainable one.

“As we look onto the horizon of advancing ultra high technology and digitized world coupled with looming concerns in environment, climate change, cyber-security, communalism, tribalism, intolerance, corruption etc, ROF should reflect, roll up their sleeves and come together with one voice and invest their enthusiasm and involvement for the welfare and development of our society,” Tep added.

Rengma Hoho president Kenny Tep also exhorted the gathering. Wangthang Rengma, Retd director Geology & Mining spoke on behalf of retired members.

ROF felicitated the HSLC toppers 2019 on the occasion. It also acknowledged the contributions of 26 retired officers.
Later, Dr. Nshoga Rengma made a power point presentation on “Migration history of the western Rengma.
