Tseminyu, June 30 (MExN): The Rengma Hoho held its general session with Ar Jwenga Seb, MLA & Chairman DPDB Tseminyu as guest of honour at Tseminyu town hall on June 29. 

Ar Jwenga Seb in his speech urged the Rengma people to stand united and work cohesively for the upliftment of every member of the community, ensuring equal access to education, healthcare, infrastructure and employment opportunities by empowering the youths, supporting our women and valuing the wisdom and experience of the elders. 

He stressed that the Rengma Hoho is a symbol of hope, progress and community service and also urged upon the Rengma people to come together cutting across all differences to make Tseminyu district a Model district, the hoho stated in a press release.

During the second session, Kenilo Apon, IAS Commissioner and Secretary Urban & Municipal Affairs, spoke on the topic ‘The Village Customary Practices and the missing links’ and Dr Joshua Lorin, Principal, Oriental Theological Seminary, spoke on the topic ‘The Assembly Election Reformation, its Impact Now and Then.’

Dr Joshua Lorin encouraged the gathering to strongly uphold the principle of Clean Election campaign which has been launched by NBCC. He noted that through this Clean Election campaign so many positive changes are taking place and further encouraged the Naga people as a whole not to be discouraged by the slow process of the ‘change.’ He also impressed upon the gathering ‘to tell the truth, fight for the truth, and stand for the truth.’ 

A new team of office bearers of the Rengma Hoho was also installed led by Er Tesinlo Semy as President and Shatilo Kent as General Secretary.
