Rengma Public Org Kohima annual session cum felicitation held

Kohima, July 1 (MExN): The Rengma Public Organization Kohima (RPOK) held its annual session cum felicitation programme at the Capital Convention Centre, Kohima on June 30.  

During the occasion, RPOK felicitated MLA R Khing, Advisor, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services and Women Resources Development for his success in the election to the 13th NLA from 12-Tseminyu Assembly Constituency.  

The RPOK's Best Citizen Award 2018 with cash award was conferred to senior citizen and pioneer among Rengmas residing in Kohima, CT Rengma.  

Chaired by Shingato Jemu, Vice-President RPOK, the event began with invocation by Dr. Kenny Tsela, Pastor RBCK and Philip Kent, Joint Secretary, RPOK welcoming the gathering. It was followed by a spirited male voice 'Gholo' presented by Hinenlo and friends.  

A press release from the organization stated that Khinyi Woch, President RPOK and Benjamin Lorin, General Secretary RPOK in their presidential address and secretary's report respectively highlighted not only the activities and programmes undertaken by the RPOK during the 2015-18 tenure, but also their experiences and encouraged the community to strive towards achieving greater heights in every field.  

The Audit Committee presented its report during the programme and the Nomination Committee also tabled its report before the house for approval. With the approval of the house, office bearers of RPOK for the tenure 2018-21 were selected. Khinyi Woch and Shingato Jemu were selected to continue as President and Vice President respectively and Kenny Semp and Yhunchilo Khing joined as General Secretary and Vice President respectively for the new tenure, among others. Zakevi Kesen, Associate Pastor, RBCKYD invoked blessings for the new office bearers.  

The RBCKYD choir also presented special number and the programme ended with words of gratitude delivered by Wekhenu Mesen, Vice President RPOK.
