Dimapur, January 4: The office of the “founder & first president village chiefs/GB federation of Nagaland” today issued a request note to the Minister of Power, Kipili Sangtam for “exemption of electricity bill for the GBs in Nagaland in respect of their free services towards the Government and public at grassroot level.”
The note appended by TL Angami, founder & first president village chief (GB) Federation of Nagaland, stated that the Gaon Burahs (GBs) of the State collect the house tax and deposit it to the Government yearly. The GBs also always stands on behalf of the Government at grassroot level in rendering their valuable services tirelessly till their life time.
He adds, “The public at grassroot level are living peacefully due to the presence of the GBs in Nagaland. Due to their free service and effort, the Government is able to relax from their headache in many ways. As such, it is highly deserved to bail them out by exemption of electrical bill during their service time. Because the GBs of the State always obey and carried out the orders of the Government and render their services free of cost.”
Therefore, the office concerned is requested to look into the matter mentioned and consider the case on top priority basis in respect of their free services towards the Government and public at grassroot level.
