The Christian invention of rescuing is soundly characteristic of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. God has been in the soul-rescuing business ever since the fall of man. This is his aim of his army - to RESCUE the PERISHING. And we cannot truly rescue and conquer except in the spirit of love, for Biblical love is what intends us to rescue.
Daniel of old, who deeply loved God, knew of Jehovah’s love to rescue. God greatly rescued him. Daniel was wrongly accused by evil men to the point that he was cast into a den of ferocious lions, but God has mercy and he kept Daniel safe, and the evil men were then slain by the same lions that were intended to devour Daniel. King Darius the Mede, who took the kingdom from Balthazar, after witnessing the miracle of Daniel being saved from the lion, “wrote unto all people, nations, and languages, that dwell in all the earth; peace be multiplied unto you. I make a decree, that in every dominion of my kingdom men tremble and fear before the God Daniel: for he is the living God, and steadfast for ever, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed, and his delivereth and RESCUETH. He worketh signs and wonders in heaven and in earth, who hath delivered Daniel from the power of lion” (Daniel 6:25-27)
Do you want to be a rescue ranger? The need is urgent. The lord is looking for courageous and confident soldier not self-confident ones, but one’s confident in him to rescue the perishing. Such an extremely stupendous under taking, one might hesitate to join! But the call to RESCUE remains. Yes dear Church goers, this applies to you, not just to the so called “finger group” or individuals. This is out generation. And even in an age of grass faithlessness such as our generation is the spirit of God can make you ever faithful the spirit of expectancy will surely empower you to look forward in anticipation in the work of God.
Sin is literally swallowing up this sick generation. While distant God every Saturday or Sunday in Nagaland. People, Hell bound and Demon bound souls need help now! I’m not talking about inviting a soul to your church. I’m not talking about you, by the spirit of God, rescuing the lost. “Church” has had its place, but Churches in our generations are not much better than social clubs where a sinner doesn’t feel his or her conscience being convicted. And the Lord has left the Churches! Yet the sin problem must be dealt with. The present hour brings the body of Christ her greatest necessary challenges, for the lost are many dying.
David the Psalmist pleaded in Psalm 35: 17, Lord, how long will thou look on? RESCUE my soul from their destructions, my darling from the lions”. The Holy Spirit used the Wesley brothers to start the Wesleyan revival that swept the whole world. Methodists were intensely serious about rescuing the perishing. Sadly, today they have all but “cooled off’ and “calmed down” to a dead stop; but this ought to be one more reason why you and I should carry on Christ’s great noble missionary work! The word “RESCUE” means, “One that rescue or retakes”.
