Resolved, Reconciled: Peletkie & Hariebe Khel end land dispute

Peren, December 22 (MExN): The long pending and decade old land dispute between the Peletkie village and Hairiebe Khel of Ndwanglwa village under Peren district that resulted in loss of life during 2003 was settled by reading a mutual agreement on December 20 at Peren town in the residence of Secretary Peren Council, Dr. Ndangkie Ndang, who is also the mediator, in the presence of the district administration.

The Additional SP Peren, Limaakum Jamir and advisor Zeme Council, Iherie Ndang speaking at the occasion appreciated both the parties for setting an example that “any dispute can be settled if it is in the true spirit of Christian brotherhood.”

Both the parties acknowledged the effort of various individual, NGOs, Church leaders, district administration, dobashis and particularly Dr. Ndangkie Ndang in bringing to an end of the imbroglio. It stated that the peace agreement/settlement document was signed and exchanged.

Pastor Peren Baptist Church, Rev. Suitei Ndang, offered a prayer of blessing followed by peace feast hosted by mediator.

Earlier, the programme was chaired by convenor Hairiebe Khel, Namzu; Bible reading and prayer by associate pastor Peletkie Baptist Church, Kitei Chamlak; an account of dispute settlement was presented by Secretary Peren Council, Dr. Ndangkie Ndang (mediator); special song was presented by Shalom Kekie Kangbau PBC, solidarity speech were delivered by Dr. Keciziuying Siang from Hairiebe Khel of Ndunglwa village and chairman Peletkie village council, Kuleugongbe; speech and presentation of appreciation certificate by DC Peren, S. Tainiu; while concluding prayer was offered by pastor Ndunglwa Baptist Church, Izulung Ikie.
