MOKOKCHUNG, NOVEMBER 29 (DIPR): District Magistrate, Sivasagar, Assam, Narayan Konwar has promulgated order under section 144Cr.P.C prohibiting transportation of coal etc., beyond the permitted limit as prescribed by the Motor Vehicle Act, 1988. The order further prohibited movement of truck carrying coal from 10pm to 5am throughout Sivasagar district of Assam. ‘Any movement of coal etc., loaded truck between 10pm to 5am will be treated as illegal, and will be dealt with appropriate section of law,’ stated the order. The order further prohibited the movement of coal loaded truck without valid permit, tax payment certificate etc. The order which came into force from November 1, 2017, will remain in force for a period of sixty days. Movement of such over loaded vehicles carrying materials like coal and movement of 10/18 wheelers have caused damages to the roads, said Konwar.
