In an ideal world, success would be solely based on merit, with hard work and talent being the primary drivers of achievements. However, the reality is often far from this ideal. Where loot and favouritism lead to success, and hard work, qualification and abilities are overshadowed by the very fact of ‘NEPOTISM’. My question to the people would be, ‘Will the favouritism, loot and preferences win against the qualification, hard work and the abilities of an individual?’
How will a person fight for their success when nepotism in society has more power than the true abilities, qualifications and hard work? A person's success in the modern society is based on “FAVOURITISM” and not based on their sacrifices and abilities, leading to an individual pursuing their passions going in vain, which makes them discouraged and makes them feel that success is determined by WHO YOU KNOW AND NOT BY WHAT YOU KNOW.
Misunderstanding and conflicts emerge when there is a high influence of nepotism in society. The modern society is drained by the 8 and 11 Alphabets
(N-E-P-O-T-I-S-M) and (F-A-V-O-U-R-I-T-I-S-M) rather than by the 9 and 8 Alphabets (A-B-I-L-I-T-I-E-S) and (H-A-R-D-W-O-R-K), leading to a lack of diversity and inclusion, as certain groups or individuals may be unfairly excluded from opportunities. Nepotism has also undermined trust in institutions, as people perceive that success is determined by connections and relationships with the people who hold power. An individual's feelings toward the determination by who you know and not by what you know leads to the lack of innovations and progress, and also, the capable individuals are not given the opportunities they deserve, even when there are no signs of an individual's incapabilities. Additionally, nepotism has created a major gap between the highs and the lows and also created a culture of entitlement, where individuals feel that they are OWNED SUCCESS simply because of their connections. We talk about equal opportunities for all, while in today’s society, all we see is an individual who has no idea and abilities in that particular field has more power, rather than those with potential, talents, skills and abilities just because they hold a connection with the person in power. Don't you all think that money and nepotism have been ruling over our society, which is bringing down the society? If a deserving person holds the post, there wouldn’t be corruption but development in the society, don't you think? The Public against the issues of nepotism and inequality wouldn’t arise when there’s fairness and equality in choosing the right and capable person for our society. Money has won against the right to speak and the right to work, and nepotism has won against the hardworking and deserving individuals in any field.
As students, it's essential to recognise and understand how nepotism affects various contexts and industries as well, and we should advocate for equal opportunities and treatment for all individuals, regardless of their connections and support systems. And where rewards and opportunities are based on an individual's merit, such as talent, hard work, potential and achievement. Promote transparency, accountability and merit-based systems, and together we can work towards creating a better future by giving an equal opportunity to an individual based on their merit, efforts, and potential. Let's all see the growth, unity, development and equality by not allowing nepotism to rule and bring conflicts and division amongst the people in our society
