Informing that the general public is living in complete darkness without electricity for almost a month, REUU president Tegibu Tep in an appeal letter stated that the electricity supply is very irregular and in deteriorating condition at Tseminyu.
He also said that electricity breakdown has become almost a daily routine and that the failure of the light disturbs the study of student and create communication problem by deferring the job. “Since for many decades the public has just become a silent spectator and tolerating the troubles and problem for the irregular electricity supply. Even if we sometimes place our grievances to the concern department our needs are left unattended,” he said. Stating that the condition of the public is in a pathetic condition, REUU president said that the concern department shouldn’t take advantage on the patient and silent public and say that there is shortage of staff and also stated surprise that the office didn’t have instruments and tools provided by the state government.
The REUU therefore requested the Chief Engineer, Power, Kohima to kindly look into the matter and take necessary steps to solve this fraudal problem and make the electricity supply regular within the date of application received. “Failing which the REUU will be compiled to take its own course of action. And the concern department will be held responsible for any untoward event or incident that arises,” REUU stated.
