Dimapur, February 8 (MExN): The 89th Convocation programme of Senate of Serampore was held at Trinity Theological College, Thahekhu Dimapur where Rev. Dr. Kavito Zhimo, Principal Trinity Theological College was elected to be the President of Senate of Serampore College (University) for a period of three years.
SBC, Director Rev. Khehovi Shohe in a press release said that the SBC Council held its meeting on the February 6 and expressed gratitude to the Senate members for electing Rev. Dr. Kavito to head the Senate.
It also informed that Dr. H. Stikhato Rotokha, a prominent leader among the Sumi Naga was conferred Doctor of Divinity (Honoris Causa) by the Senate of Serampore University in recognition of his yeomen services to the Church and the society.
Also, Hosheto Achumi Rtd Commissioner Transport was elected as the President of Sumi Baptist Convention commencing from 2017.
Meanwhile, the North East India Theological Association (NEITA) wishes Rev. Dr. Kavito Zhimo for being elected as President of Senate of Serampore College (University) to take the Senate of Serampore College (University) to greater heights.
NEITA President, Rev. Dr. Yiepetso Wezah in a press release conveyed that the Association also expresses its thankful heart to the leaders of Senate of Serampore College (University) for electing one of its members to the highest post. The Association will continue to support and work together with the Senate to impart theological education South East Asian and particularly in India.
