
Phek, October 16 (MExN): The silver jubilee of Priestly Ordination of Rev. Fr. Jose Lukose was celebrated at St. Xavier Parish Church, Meluri on October 16 under the initiative of the Pochuri Catholic Union.
At the thanksgiving Eucharistic celebration, Rev. Fr. Jose Lukose was the Main Celebrant. He thanked God for his continuous blessings in fulfilling the mission of Christ in Nagaland, informed a press release received here. “Priests are set apart for the mission of Christ and Christ would never bypass the prayer of a Priest,” he added.
The programme was attended by 22 priests, 12 sisters, ADC Meluri and delegates from all the 9 sub-centres under Meluri Parish. A short felicitation was held after the Mass in which traditional songs, special numbers and speeches of appreciation were delivered.
Rev. Fr. Jose Lukose is a native of Kerala who left his parents and home after his matriculation in 1980 in order to become a missionary. After completing his studies in Philosophy, Theology, Graduation and Post Graduation, he was ordained a Priest by Late Bishop Abraham Alangimattathil, Bishop of Nagaland on January 4, 1992 in his home Parish in Kerala. He served as Principal of various schools and college in Nagaland. His first appointment was in Tuensang in 1992, then he served as the Principal of Holy Cross School, Dimapur, Queen Mary School, Mokokchung, Newman School, Tobu, St. Xavier College, Jalukie, and St. Xavier Hr Sec School, Meluri (currently).
Earlier, Rev. Fr. Solomon Kevishi, Assistant Priest of Meluri, welcomed the priests from Tura, Meghalaya and Nagaland, the sisters and all the Parishners especially those who came from far away centres to attend the function.
