Rev Moa Longchari Cancer Foundation (RMLCF) has financially assisted the treatment of 54 cancer patients as of October 2021 since its formation in 2019.
RMLCF president Khrienuo Moa stated this during the 2nd foundation of day of RMLCF here at Kevilhouü Rio Auditorium Hall, G Rio School premises.
Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, who is also advisor of RMLCF, also present on the occasion.
Khrienuo said that with the combined efforts of its hospital allies, advocates and donors, “we have been able to provide for a demographic in critical needs of financial support” (to cancer patients).
“Every since our launch on October 26, 2019, we’ve stayed committed to our theme “Change a Moment, Change a Life,” she stated.
“We at RMLCF believe that kindness and compassion have rippling effects in our society, the ripples of changing little moments eventually impact the lives of individuals. It changes both the giver and the receiver and this has been a constant testament at RMLCF,” Khrienuo affirmed.
She stated that the RMLCF is currently working in affiliation with four hospitals (Putuonuo Nursing Home, Naga Hospital Kohima, Eden Hospital and Christian Institute of Health Sciences and Research Dimapur) and hope to expand these partnerships in a way where they are able to efficiency and effectively make a difference in the cancer community.
‘Cancer is not a death sentence’
Speaking on the occasion as guest speaker, Dr Keduovinuo Keditsu, consultant Surgical Oncologist, Putuonuo Nursing Home, Kohima expressed gratitude to president and board members of RMLCF for their generosity and farsightedness.
“Cancer is not a death sentence and the best protection is early detection,” Dr Keditsu said.
“Let us choose hope and not fear,” she said and challenged everyone to contribute to make a difference.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by Kevino Savino while vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Tseibu Rutsa, advisor RMLCF. Treasurer report was given by Temjen Longkumer.
Fund raiser sale 2021 on November 13
Meanwhile, RMLCF will be organizing Fund raiser Sale 2021 on November 13 at High School junction Kohima from 7:00 AM.
100% of proceeds will go towards funding the treatment of cancer patients, the Foundation said.
We are accepting gently used/serviceable household goods, clothing, accessories, electronic appliance, furniture and books till November 6, it stated and also appealed the concerned to drop off food items, fruits, vegetables, flowers and other perishable items on November 12. Drop off donations at G.Rio School, Kohima/ RMLCF Aid Centre Peraciezie.

RMLCF is a non-profit organization established on October 26, 2019, in the memory of Late Rev Moa Longchari as a ‘testament and expansion of his ministry and service to God.’
During his diagnosis and treatment for cancer, he had experienced a critical need to reach those suffering from similar medical conditions as his.
RMLCF is his vision of him in action and our mission is to minimize the ‘battles lost unfought.’
“We are dedicated to providing our best for the cancer community and achieving the core essence of our foundation: to change a moment, change a life,” it stated.
The mission is to reduce cancer mortality rate across Nagaland through awareness, prevention and early-detection, to provide emotional support for patients through their recovery and encourage them to live a full life during and after their treatment, to raise funds across communities and to collaborate with oncologists, hospitals and volunteers to maximize the effectiveness of spreading awareness and treatment for patients.
The vision is to provide the best possible treatment for reducing the cancer mortality rate in Nagaland by providing medical financial assistance and counseling for the underprivileged and medically underserved communities.
