Kohima, April 20 (MExN): The Chakhesang Youth Front (CYF) had made a fervent plea to Nagaland’s Governor La. Ganesan to revamp government piggery farms in Phek district.

Making this plea to the later on his visit to Phek town on April 20, CYF President, Vezhoduyi Nakro stressed on the need to revamp the government piggery farms and establishment of Veterinary Clinics at Chosaba in Phek and Sathazu in Chozuba “since the said projects are lying dysfunctional for the last many years.”

The scope and importance of the said projects cannot be overemphasized given the high demand of meat in the district and state as a whole, Nakro informed.

He said that the Chakhesang Public Organization (CPO) had banned the import of pork into Phek district and the CYF had been seriously enforcing this decision with a hope to empower the local farmers for better sustainability and economic development while bearing in mind the necessity to protect and preserve our rich biodiversity and ecosystem.
