Kohima, January 21 (MExN): A review meeting of MGNREGA convergence with concerned line departments and Project Directors of DRDAs was held here today under the chairmanship of Rural Development Secretary, Kelei Zeliang at the Conference Hall of the Directorate of Rural Development.
The meeting deliberated on several agendas including status of implementation of the convergence projects and issue of completion certificate among others.
The proposed activities under convergence of MGNREGA and SAGY with the concerned line departments were also discussed at length.
The meeting was also addressed by Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur, Kesonyu Yhome and Director, RD, Metsubo Jamir.
Meanwhile, during the meeting RD Secretary urged upon all the concerned line departments to do their part in order to ensure completion of projects on time.
As part of the convergence of MGNREGA with the line departments/schemes in the year 2015-16, convergence was proposed with the following five departments; Land Resources Department (Integrated watershed Management Programme), Department of Forest, Ecology, Environment and Wildlife, Public Works Department (Roads & Bridges)- PMGSY, Department of Horticulture and Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY).
