Revoke tribe recognition order, AZSU (AMN) to NSCN (IM)

Dimapur, April 26 (MExN): The Dimki (Assembly) of the All Zeliangrong Students' Union (Assam, Manipur & Nagaland) has urged upon the leadership of NSCN (IM) and Tatar Hoho to revoke its order “recognizing /separating the Zeliangrong family into Zeme, Liangmai & Rongmei as ‘Null and Void’.”

As demanded by the Zeliangrong apex organization, the order should be revoked at the earliest for greater interest of the Zeliangrong people and for the unity of the Naga Nation, AZSU (AMN) said in a press statement.

“It is against the wishes of the Zeliangrong people and done without consulting the Zeliangrong apex organization,” it said.

The press statement issued by AZSU (AMN) President Nchaheeing Kompoing and Vice-President Hulangbou said that several resolutions regarding the same were passed during its 5th Dimki Session (Assembly) on April 20 at Lodiram Haflong, Assam.

The Session after threadbare deliberation resolved to extend its fullest support to the decision of Zeliangrong Baudi (Assam, Manipur & Nagaland) general decision of the April 3 at Jalukie; joint declaration of Zeliangrong solidarity day on April 1 at Chingmeirong, Imphal; and 8th Dimki (Assembly) declaration of ZB (AMN) on April 11 at Makuilongdi Village, Senapati, it added.

The declaration stated that "Zeliangrong family as one people will remain united and re-affirmed the solidarity Oath of our forefathers in 1934 and Keisamthong declaration of Zeliangrong as one people on 15th August 1947," the statement said.

“The collective decision of NSCN leadership of Ato Kilonser Th. Muivah and Yaruiwo Lt. Isak Chishi Swu directive and executive order of Yaruiwo dated 30th June 2011 which stated that ‘Zeliangrong Region Will Remain Intact’ should be honoured and upheld in letter and spirit,” it added.
