RIFN asserts stand on Naga political issue

Dimapur, June 25 (MExN): The Rongmei Indigenous Forum Nagaland (RIFN) on Saturday stated that it is a separate entity ‘formed to work for the welfare of the Indigenous Rongmei tribe who had settled permanently in Nagaland prior to 1963.’

“The Rongmei Indigenous Forum of Nagaland is the only right Forum to address issues with regard to the Rongmeis recognized by the Government of Nagaland,” RIFN President, G Patrick Rongmei and General Secretary, Akhu Naga claimed in a press release.

It stated that the RIFN ‘having aware and understood the current Naga Political scenario’ expressed the desire for early solution. “We stand our ground as a tribe permanently settled in Nagaland having no affiliation outside Nagaland State do hereby declare that we are with the Nagas of Nagaland, whichever Naga political group work for the interest of Nagaland, our unflinching support is with  them,” the forum stated.

“We have nothing to do with any organizations outside Nagaland on their views on Naga political issue. We do not endorse any political statement published by them in the public domain,” the forum declared.
