DIMAPUR, JUNE 2 (MExN): The Kilo Kilonser of the GPRN/NSCN (Neokpao-Alezo), Huvito Yepthomi extended full support to implement Inner Line Permit (ILP) in Dimapur, Chumakidima and Niuland. A press release from the MIP said that “regardless of tribal lines, differences of ideologies and political affiliations, all section of Naga people should stand in solidarity with the state government in enforcing ILP.”
It observed that the ongoing political instability in Bangladesh has had a profound negative impact on the geo-politics, especially its neighboring country like India. “We saw a huge number of influx of illegal immigrants all across different states, however, the northeastern part of states has been the worse effected,” it added.
It noted that all the states of the Northeast are going through an “unbearable problem of illegal immigrants ever since pre-independence era until present political entanglement that has been going on in Bangladesh, which adds more fuel to the flame.” “States like Tripura has been facing an unregulated growth of illegal immigrant population, unprotected job opportunity and economic interest for local populace, diluted cultural heritage and traditions, demographic change, etc. Our state of Nagaland is not immune to it, it shares a lot of law and order problems at par with the rest of the states,” it said.
The statement reflected that the Government would have enacted laws to mitigate or to address this issue long ago. “However, the indifferent attitudes and blame games among the political parties were some of the main factors which allowed immigrant population to bloom as a fine breeding ground. Lately, government has realized that immigrant influx on daily basis could be a time bomb which may bring forth devastating consequences against us,” it claimed.
The statement said “this is the right time and opportunity for the Government of Nagaland as it garnered an unprecedented level of political support, moral support and wide range of approval from all section of Naga society, to give the last and final push to eradicate the menace of illegal Immigrant from our state forever by enforcing or implementing ILP in all the districts of Nagaland.”
