Rio advised to handover power to NSCN (IM)

DIMAPUR, DEC 1 (MExN): Alleging that the present DAN government had become a puppet under the NSCN (IM), Issac Sumi, Spokesmen of Naga Army, NSCN (K) advised Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio to formally handover the State administration to the NSCN (IM) without further delay. “The Nagaland puppet State administrative machineries are now practically handled by the IM group with undue interference in all the Naga affairs including financial system without any restraints or rule of law by the IM group are conspicuous”, it was stated.

It was also disclosed that the NSCN (IM) had been accepting Indian monetary grant and assistance to the tune of 25% from every central scheme being availed by the State government.

“Disbursement  of salary to the cadres both military and civil through Indian financing, which in its entirety is not only novel and perfidious in the history of Nagas struggle but an open act of treason capable of being committed only by traitors without compunction”, it stated.

The spokesmen further alleged that all the village councils in Nagaland and the NGOs were being controlled through sheer force and intimidation and cited the example of the forced dissolution of the Ao Senden in the past and the recent dissolution of the USLB of the Sangtam tribe.

Blaming of a hidden agenda with the Government of India in the ongoing political dialogue, the NSCN (K) stated that the dialogue was aimed only at the welfare and security of a certain tribe who had intruded into the Naga political scene during the late 1960s.

“Their domination of the NSCN (IM) has to a dreadful extent brought about paralysis and sharp division within the Naga society”, it stated and alleged that the NSCN (IM) was following a policy to divide and rule the Nagas as seen in what it alleged was the arming of the Changs and the Tikhirs to fight the Konyaks and Yimchungers.
