Rio attends World Cup finals, meet top officials

DIMAPUR, APRIL 3 (MExN): Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio yesterday attended the ICC World Cup finals at Mumbai as a Host Official of the event. In the Presidential Enclosure Rio interacted with Sri Lankan President Rajapaksha, ICC president Sharad Pawar and other officials, Maharashtra Governor and Chief Minister, including a host of union ministers, foreign dignitaries, sports officials and administrators. Rio was the only leader from the north eastern region to be seated in the President’s enclosure.
After conclusion of the match, Rio personally congratulated the ICC President and officials on the success of the event and the victory of the Indian team. The Chief Minister was accompanied by Abu Metha, Secretary of the Nagaland Cricket Association, who was also a host official of the world cup.
