NDPP-BJP alliance chief ministerial candidate Neiphiu Rio today claimed that Chief Minister TR Zeliang and NPF president Dr. Shurhozelie Liezietsu are enjoying his fruits today because of his leadership and effort in reviving the NPF party in 2003.

He said this election will be a test for the leadership of TR Zeliang and Dr. Liezietsu.

For the last 4 years, TR Zeliang and Dr Shürhozelie ruled as CMs but no development was visible on the ground, he claimed.

Speaking at an election campaign programme for NDPP candidate Vikho-o Yhoshu from 14th Southern Angami–I Assembly Constituency at Kigwema, Rio expressed confidence that NDPP-BJP alliance will get absolute majority and form the next government.

“We will form the government and NPF will be in the opposition,” he maintained.

Rio asserted he was not against the NPF but unstable leadership within the party had compelled him to leave the party and joined NDPP.

He further said he decided to return to the state politics as people desired his leadership once again.

He requested the people to vote for Yhoshu and all other NDPP-BJP alliance candidates to see that NDPP comes to power and bring changes.

Meanwhile, Yhoshu said he joined NDPP to strengthen the hand of visionary leader Rio, describing him as the tallest leader in the state.

He appealed the people to re-elect him this time as well to bring positive changes under the leadership of Rio.

NDPP vice president Menuovilie Kesiezie and NDPP Kohima region president Avi-o Tetso also addressed the gathering.

Rio will again address election rally in Kidima and Viswema on February 18.
