Kohima, August 4 (MExN): The Chief Minister of Nagaland Neiphiu Rio has mourned the demise of Justice WA Shishak, former Chief Justice of Chhattisgarh and Himachal Pradesh High Court at a ripe age of 82 at the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal on August 3.

The CM in a condolence note stated that Shishak was not only a renowned judge but he was someone who stood firmly against human rights violations. Throughout his career he always advocated for truth and justice. Although he had made laurels to his name, he was humble and kind.

“As such, he was highly respected by all and his life is an inspiration to many. It may be mentioned that when he was serving the Government of Nagaland as a Senior Government Advocate, he executed his duties with utmost diligence and honesty,” said Rio.

“Upon his demise, Naga society has lost a guardian, a father figure, and a legal luminary of renown. The void created by his absence will be difficult to fill. He will be truly missed but let us treasure and celebrate his life and it is my humble prayer that his legacy will be carried on,” he added.
