Rio to file nomination today
Nagaland Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio, the Democratic Alliance of Nagaland (DAN) consensus candidate for Nagaland parliamentary constituency, is all set to file his nomination for the polls on March 20.
Rio announced this during a NPF ticket distribution ceremony for the polls here this morning at Naga People’s Front (NPF) central Office after CEC meeting of NPF. Soso Lorho, also received NPF ticket for Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency. NPF president Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu administered oath to the duo.
Dr. Liezietsu also did the formality of conferring NPF ticket to 12 candidates who will be contesting at the forthcoming state assembly elections in Arunachal Pradesh.
Meanwhile, the official kick off of the election campaign of the NPF will take place on March 27 at Dimapur.
The state level DAN election campaign committee for the forthcoming polls has been constituted with Noke Wangnao, PHED minister as convenor along with three other co-convenors Dr. Chuba Ao president BJP state unit, Mhonjan Lotha, president JD (U) state unit and Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu, minister PWD (Roads & Bridges) & parliamentary affairs.
Minister for tourism, art & culture E.E.Pangteang will be convenor for the election campaign of the NPF candidates for state assembly polls in Arunachal Pradesh and minister of planning & coordination, evaluation, geology & mining TR Zeliang for Outer Manipur parliamentary constituency.
The election campaign committee convenors at the district level included; Kohima- Kiyanilie Peseyie, Mokokochung- Imkong L. Imchen, Mon- Paiwang Konyak, Tuensang- CM Chang, Tseminyu- R. Khing, Zunheboto- Kaito Aye, Peren- Namri Nchang, Dimapur- Zhaleo Rio and Tovihoto Ayemi, Phek- Neiba Kronu, Wokha- Y. Patton, Pughoboto- Vikheho Swu, Kiphire- Torechu and Longleng- S. Pangyuh Phom.
Earlier, the CEC meeting was chaired by Apong Pongener, working president NPF while welcome address was delivered by Huskha Yepthomi, working president.
