
Dimapur, November 15 (MExN): The Network of Nagaland Drugs and AIDS Organisation (NNagaDAO), today informed in a press release that Neiphiu Rio, Lok Sabha MP had written to Jagat Prakash Nadda, Union Minister for Health & Family Welfare, Government of India on November 14, which was copied to the president NNagaDAO, requesting Jagat Prakash Nadda, “to intervene and do the needful at the earliest to avoid setbacks in executing HIV programmes in the state.” NNagaDAO, President, Abou Mere, while putting on record “the tremendous contribution and effort Neiphiu Rio have put in,” stated in a press release that Rio has extended his “fullest cooperation in dealing with HIV and AIDS programmes during his consecutive terms as Chief Minister of Nagaland and the Chairman State AIDS Council.”
“He has played a key role ensuring an effective and successful implementation of HIV programmes, strived for the welfare of the key populations and to ensure a brighter future for our state,” NNagaDAO added while expressing its profound gratitude to Neiphiu Rio for “maintaining the demeanor of a true leader.”
The NNaga DAO President also expressed its full confidence on the leadership of TR Zeliang, Chief Minister of Nagaland that he shall stand up for the right of its citizen and take all necessary and possible actions to ensure that the pending fund for HIV and AIDS programmes from National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO), Government of India is released at the earliest.
