DIMAPUR, APRIL 1 (MExN): The NPF-led DAN Government has achieved a lot within a span of three years with its sincerity and commitment for the welfare and uplift of the people of Nagaland which, stated Achamo Kikon, Press Secretary NPF Youth Wing, the Congress couldn’t do during their regime.
The government has taken up various developmental activities which are visible and satisfactory for the wellbeing of all such as DUDA for the development of underdeveloped areas, Women Department for the interest of the women, Year of Youth Empowerment 2004-05 during which more than 1000 Naga youths got direct benefit through CM Corpus Fund, which was never heard during the Congress regime though fund was available under the discretion of CM even at that point of time stated the release.
The successful conclusion of the NE Agri-Expo at Dimapur is another landmark achievement of the government which, stated Achamo, will definitely go a long way in fructifying the year of farmers, 2006 stated the release.
While clarifying that all the allegations of the Congress are baseless and unfounded, the Press Secretary stated that the Congress party are worried and envious because they could not make any worthwhile achievement during their long tenure.
“It is explicitly apparent that they are totally frustrated and ambitioned to be in power without realizing that the common people have miserably voted them out of power basically for failing in all fronts” stated Achamo while accusing the recent outburst on the issue of office of profit as nothing but a dramatic demonstration of total ignorance of the provisions of laws.
Accusing the Congress as adopting equi-distance policy to divide the Nagas and to impose their terms on the Naga people, Achamo stated the policy of equi-closeness was adopted to bring all sections of the Naga people together and to cohesively strive for the fulfillment of the long cherished aspiration of the Naga People where the efforts and contribution of every individual and organization is indispensable.
The law and order situation deteriorated to the point of no return during the reign of Congress due to the policy of equi-distance which has improved after the present government took over the reins stated the release.
While stating that the social fabric of the Naga people as strong and closely knit, Achamo also reminded that ‘the opinion of the people controls and binds the community’ in which traditional bodies, civil societies and churches play a vital role in reflecting the voice and sentiments of the people.
The NPF Youth wing after ascertaining all the facts as stated by Achamo pledged all to render full support and co-operation to the government under the leadership of Neiphiu Rio to serve the people better.
