RKVY team comprising of Agri and allied departments conducts preliminary survey of the project at Hovukhu village.

Dimapur, March 16 (MExN): A team of District HODs and officers led by N. Hushili Sema (IAS), Deputy Commissioner and Chairman of the programme conducted a survey of the RKVY project site at Hovukhu village under Niuland sub-division on March 11.
DAO & PD-ATMA, Dimapur stated in a press release that the project comprises of 100 hectares of compact area where developmental activities under agri and allied sectors will be initiated. On the arrival of the team, the village authorities and beneficiaries were briefed about the programme and activities each department undertakes. The project site was surveyed and areas were identified for roads/paths, sources of irrigation, potential fisheries, potential orchards, etc.
The Deputy Commissioner lauded the departments for convergence of all Agri. and allied departments to bring such developmental activities. She believed that this convergence will be very successful in implementing the developmental activities of the project under RKVY, Dimapur. National Agriculture Development Programme (NADP) also called Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY) is a centrally assisted scheme to promote growth in agriculture sector more comprehensively, taking agro-climatic conditions, natural resource issues and technology into account, and integrating livestock, poultry and fisheries more fully. RKVY aims at achieving growth in agriculture sector by ensuring a holistic development of agriculture and allied sectors for the farmers.
In Dimapur district, all Agri and allied departments are involved in the developmental activities under RKVY. The departments involved are Agriculture, Horticulture, Sericulture, Fisheries, Soil & Water Conservation, Veterinary& Animal Husbandry, Land Resources Development, Irrigation & Flood Control and Forest.
