DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 2 (MExN): The Nagaland RMSA Teacher’s Association 2015-16 today informed that they have not received salaries for 5 complete months.
A press note from the association reminded that the state is already in receipt of Rs thirteen crores twenty one lakhs and twenty seven thousand, sanctioned by the MHRD GoI in the month of July which was meant to be utilised as the salary component of the RMSA teachers.
It informed that during a meeting with the RMSA Department on August 8, the office informed that they have already proposed the file which then was with the planning Department. “Ironically even on the 31/08/16, which is after 19 days, the file has not moved for reasons best to them. And the executives were told the file after clearance goes to the finance department, after which it is again to be signed by the Chief Minister and will then come to the RMSA office routing through the same Depts. again,” it added.
“Since the allocated funds are to be used solely for maintaining the salary of the teachers, the association asks the Planning Department to publicise as to why even after 19 days it is not able to give its clearance when the centre has already cleared it. And ours being a centrally sponsored scheme why does it have to go through so many Depts. for us to get what is due to us?” the association questioned. Stating that this Teacher’s Day would be “a day of grief and alienation by the authorities, who themselves will be out there somewhere giving their eloquent speeches,” the Nagaland RMSA Teacher’s Association asked all concerned responsible citizens and organisations to “stand by us and help us better serve the society.”
