
WOKHA, JUNE 19 (MExN): RO & ADC, Wokha Town Council, K Furhesie Nyuwi, has informed all concerned that the Voters Information Slip (VIS) is merely to help the elector get information about his/her status in relation to the election and should not be treated as the equivalent of other identification documents required of a voter for entry into polling stations and for casting votes.
Informing this, the RO said no elector will be allowed to exercise his/her franchise unless he/she produce any of the below documents prescribed by the State Election Commission, a DIPR report said.
Indian Passport, Driving License, Aadhar card, Service ID issued to its employees by the state/central Government, Public undertaking, Public Limited Companies, Bank/Post Office Pass Book with photograph, PAN card, Pension documents with photograph, Indigenous inhabitant certificates issued by the Deputy Commissioner/Addl DC can be used, the RO stated. Besides the above, no other IDs shall be accepted at the polling station, the DIPR report stated.
