Road show generates excitement for Capt N Kengurüse Memorial Tourney

KOHIMA, OCTOBER 9 (MExN): Assam Rifles organised a road show in Kohima on October 9 as part of the promotional campaign for the upcoming 9th Capt N Kengurüse, MVC, Memorial Football Tournament.

Described as a tribute to Capt N Kengurüse, MVC (Posthumous), an icon of bravery and pride of Nagaland, the event sought to build public enthusiasm and participation ahead of the tournament. Assam Rifles stated that the initiative aimed to inspire the youth to engage in sports and emulate the values of courage, discipline, and teamwork exemplified by the late officer.

The road show began from Lerie Junction and passed through BOC Junction, Phoolbari Junction, Old NST Station, and Tinpati Junction before culminating at High School Junction. It featured colourful banners, music, and interactions with residents along the route.

The event witnessed vibrant participation and drew large crowds of residents and commuters, especially young people who turned out to witness the procession. The atmosphere was marked by jubilation and community spirit, with cheers and celebrations as the convoy made its way through the city.

Assam Rifles noted that such events not only promote sportsmanship but also strengthen the bond between the Force and local communities. The road show, it said, was another step toward uniting people through football and honouring the legacy of Capt N Kengurüse, MVC.
