Longleng, June 19 (MExN): With the initiatives of the EAC incharge of Sakshi, Robi Sangtam EAC Longleng the four village councils and the church leaders of Yangching, Auching, Sakshi and Yongphang under Sakshi circle have been renovating the 35 KM lone roads from Sakshi to Longleng headquarter since June 15, 2018.
According to a DIPR report, all the expenditure was made by the village councils and well wishes, and the machinery like earth mover was provided by the PWD department. The villagers have been clearing the landslides and filling the potholes since last Friday and is still continuing the renovation with enthusiasm for good roads.
Robi Sangtam took the initiatives and mobilized the villagers for a consolidate efforts after acknowledging the hardship face by the people of Sakshi circle. Repairing the road was necessary to keep the NST service regularly which would help the poor villagers in their economic aspects.
It may be noted that this road not only connects Sakshi with Longleng hq but also serves as an alternative roads for the people of Moka and Tobu sub-divisions of Mon district. The three villages under Sakshi circle are economically backward villages of the district and are neglected villages of the Phom community. This road becomes unplayable during the peak monsoon.
