Dimapur, September 14 (MExN): Several organizations in Chumoukedima have decided that “roaming/loitering” in and around their jurisdiction without valid reasons or proper identification after 10:00 pm will be checked by the youth of the town.
It has also been decided that “partying/immoral activities” in open public places shall be checked and those caught will be penalized as deemed fit.
The decisions were jointly made by Head GB, Chumukedima Chamber of Commerce and Trade Association, Chumukedima Town Youth Organisation, Chumukedima Students’ Union, and Chumukedima Women Organisation during a meeting on September 6.
In a joint press release, the above organizations said that the decisions have been necessitated due to numerous complaints of theft and immoral activities in the jurisdiction. They warned that any person not adhering to this public notification will be doing so at their own risk.
The organizations further appealed to the public, especially the younger generation, to co-operate “as the action has been taken for the safety and peaceful atmosphere of the area.”
